As we begin to age, bone density may decrease due to a condition known as osteoporosis, which could lead to a higher incidence of fractures. Bone density scanning, or DEXA, is an enhanced form of X-ray technology used to measure bone loss. A safe, painless, non-invasive imaging exam, it is the most accurate test for the detection and monitoring of osteoporosis.
